The boat house was so named for its boat shapes roof and a traditional boat that the doctor clients were very fond of and wanted to be placed in the entrance.

The 9600 sqft house was designed as a house for the full family to gather every year in memory of their ancestoral joint family house.

The clients being patrons of traditional dance wanted a large lawn as a stage area for dance practice and family performances.
